THE
INDUCTION ZONE

The ultimate induction hob offering
high power and complete flexibility.

  • INDUCTION COOKING USES an electromagnetic field to induce heat within a steel or cast-iron cooking pot. Its advantages include power and precision, as well as the fact that there’s less heat generated within the kitchen. Electrolux pioneered induction technology and the Grand Cuisine Induction Zone features pot detection technology, so it only works when there’s a pan in place. As the New York Times noted recently, its “kitchen geek” appeal makes the induction top “the iPad of the kitchen.”

  • KEY FEATURES:

    • Induction Zone heats up instantly
    • Professional-standard power levels
    • Entire 4mm-thick glass surface can be used for cooking
    • Pot detection technology only heats when a pot is in place
    • Option to set as a ‘Free top system,’ from hot to cool across surface
    • Easy to clean to restore a showroom shine

  • System Thinking

Cook dishes ahead of time on the Induction Zone then hold them in perfect condition using the Precision Vacuum Sealer or Blast Chiller. When they’re needed, reheat in the Combination Oven.

  • IN DESIGNING COMPONENTS for the Grand Cuisine Cooking System, we followed a simple credo: Nothing but the best. We wanted to feature glass with beauty, strength, and transparency, from the doors of the Combination Oven and Blast Chiller to the hard-wearing, easy-to-clean surface of the Induction Zone and Surround Induction Zone. Glass is not only aesthetically appealing, but also immensely practical.

  • We created glass components to precisely defined parameters of performance, durability and dimensional stability (a typical ‘recipe’ for heat-resistant glass is shown above but our own formulation remains a closely guarded secret). The result stands out in any kitchen environment, from the pared back minimalism of modern architecture to the inviting warmth of a traditional home. That’s the real beauty of the glass we use for Grand Cuisine.
